It may not be glamorous and it might not seem exciting but after nearly 50 years of fine-tuning our craftsmanship, one thing we can call our work is good.
Like other ‘70’s mainstays that have shown their metal over the coming four decades, Thermograve have changed, evolved and delivered time and time again. That’s why we’re still here to tell our story 47 years on.
I get asked all the time about our company name and where it came from. It’s simple – well it was back in the day. ‘ Thermo’ as in plastic, ‘grave’ as in engraving, which is where our roots were formed.
Now, a bit about myself. I left secondary modern school aged 15 in 1972, to learn a ‘trade’ because that’s what kids from council estates did in those days; at a company called A & G Edgingtons (unfortunately no longer in business). After 4 years learning I was given the news that I was being made redundant! Luckily in those days, Leicester had an abundance of machine engraving companies so within a week of knocking on doors, I was offered a position at Thermograve. That’s where my association with the company began. Firstly on the machines, then charge-hand, Foreman, Manager, Part-Owner joint MD and finally Owner MD. Now stretching towards 50 years, supported by a strong team around me & loyal customers, I look forward to Thermograve Pos going from strength to strength for another 50 years and beyond.
